People Drone Photography : The midwinter Yule-time (Jól) celebration of feasting and drinking has always been an important milestone in the calender of Northern People. It started on December 21st on winter solstice on the day of the long-bearded god Odin who also bears the name jólafaðir (Icelandic for "Yule father"). Much later this merged with the christian Christmas celebrations commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Whatever your religion may be (or not) the fact that the day is getting longer again is always a cause for celebration and we hope that you all enjoy happy holidays. Greetings from Isafjordur.
